App Redesign
Persona Development
Seat guru is an application that allows users to view detailed information about seating options on commercial flights. The development of a persona for this project is critical in assessing how and why redesign decisions are being made by constantly focusing such decisions through the lens of a user. The idea is to redefine demographic, geographic, and psychographic factors to maintain a focused methodology and to elucidate potential points of friction based on experience.

Content Mapping
The content map is an assessment of the user’s journey through the highway of information presented in the app. This map shows a shift towards a conversational introduction to the user in an effort to appropriately guide him/ or her to a destination in a more succinct way. There is also an introduction of a check out/ confirmation system to establish an ‘end goal’.

Wire Frames
The wireframing stage helps not only for blocking content in to assess visual syntax, but it is also helpful prioritizing necessary semantic concerns such as hierarchy, significations and allowances, and translates the experiential hierarchy established in the content map into a layout.

Interface
The final interface realizes an expansion of fundamental functions. During the concepting phase and through the process of personification, it was deemed necessary to capitalize on Seat guru’s position as affiliate to TripAdvisor. The final solution includes a conversational device to guide users, importing ticket information becomes a critical part of user flow, and more opportunities to visualize seat conditions as well as the related amenities.
